Dental sealant

Unfortunately, brushing and flossing are not always enough to fully remove all the food particles that are left on our teeth after eating. Plaque inevitably develops and accumulates in the natural recesses of teeth, leading to tooth decay if not promptly removed. To better control this phenomenon, your dentist can apply dental sealant ̶ a thin coat of resin or a similar material  ̶  in order to fill such recesses and prevent cavities from developing.
Dental sealant is strongly recommended for:

  • Children aged 6 to 14, especially if their molars and premolars are deeply recessed
  • Adults who are subject to developing cavities
